About

Welcome to DevelopmentDomains.com!

If you are wondering what this website is about then I must presume that you are not a Domainer. That’s ok though because now I can tell you a little more about myself and what I am talking about when I say that Domains were meant to be Developed!

Way back in 2002 or 2003 (yes I know, only 6 years ago), I was standing outside a Game Store chatting with a friend about something we had both heard in the news. The news story about how some domain name like “men.com” had sold for over 1 million dollars. We laughed and joked about how we should buy similar names, generic names, like “jeans.com” and then retire.

We thought it was funny!

Even though this little event took place just 6 years ago we could have easily been retired in as much time, had we taken ourselves seriously.

Well now those good years are gone and the generics have been all but dried up. Domainers are now left to scrape the bucket for expiring and dropping domains with the hope that, by sifting through the dirt and mud, they can still pan that elusive gold nugget.

No wonder they called it a Gold Rush!

Domainers far and wide buy tens and hundreds of domain names week in and week out only to drop them off in some Domain Name Parking Program or another hoping to at least make back their registration fees while they spend their days hocking their wares on a multitude of Domain Name Forums. Trust me. I know! I still park a number of domain names myself (until I am able to develop them at least).

I have spent a number of years scraping by; paying my registration fees with the meager earnings I have made through Domain Name Parking Programs.

I finally got tired of making just a little bit of money from what I believe to be some pretty good Domain Names; Domain Names I felt could make pretty good Web sites.

So I began to Develop!

First, I used my knowledge of HTML to create small Web sites with hand-written content and Google Ads.

Then I had some ideas. Ideas that would grow into larger Web sites. Web sites with lots of content ranging from simple pictures to full-fledged video. Web sites for local businesses I had been able to build a rapport with. Web sites with custom search tools and custom tag libraries built on the LAMP development platform.

What I found was this:

…these new Web sites (the ones I developed into information portals, blogs, social platforms, and custom tools) were making me a LOT more money than any of my Parked Domain Names ever would. So naturally, I started to Develop more of my Domain Names into Web sites.

This Web site is an example of one such site.

DevelopmentDomains.com is the Web site that you, the PROSPECTIVE DOMAINER, can come to to find the Domain Name you’ve always wanted to Develop!

So again I say – Welcome to DevelopmentDomains.com! :-)
